Box Brander

BEE COMPLIANT: From 11 December 2019 all honey boxes presented for extraction are required to be permanently marked with the Beekeeper apiary ID number (or a different code that achieves better or equivalent identification). Honey packers will not accept unbranded boxes.

Our 3 Second Box Brander is a fast, efficient and low-cost way to permanently brand your boxes directly in the field or at your storage location. The 3 Second Box Brander works by burning your apiary ID into any wooden box. The depth of the brand is determined by both the pressure and time the head is held on the box for. Typically at 3 seconds you can expect a branding depth of at least 1 mm. This ‘burnt in’ branding creates a highly visible and permanent way to mark your boxes. Not only allowing you to meet MPI compliance requirements but also providing you with a visible theft deterrent.

Every beekeeper knows the struggle of branding their boxes, it can often be a time-consuming task - with many faster alternatives not lasting against the elements. To help the entire branding process we have developed the 3 Second Box Brander which is perfect for both Hobbyist and Commercial Beekeepers alike!

The 3 Second Box Brander is custom made with your Apiary ID number so please allow up to 2 weeks to receive your unit. The 3 Second Box Brander requires use of a Propane torch which are available at Bunnings.
