- 3 nail holes pre drilled. This will protect the bottom edge from chewing by the bees or can be used to repair existing damage

Description
Chewing of the bottom edge of brood boxes can occur when the entrance to the hive is smaller than the bees require. This generally happens when the population is too big for the entrance (i.e on wintered down hives with large populations or during spring as the population starts to build).
