Hive Doctor Metal Corner Bee Escape Board with Plastic Rim - 4 Corners
SKU / BEESB4CPL
A bee escape is a one-way door that allows workers to leave the honey super and return to the brood nest during the night, but the board foils their attempts to reenter the box. This is a staple prior to honey harvest, allowing all the bees to exit the honey super leaving it empty - and ready for extraction!
A bee escape is a one-way door that allows workers to leave the honey super and return to the brood nest during the night, but the board foils their attempts to reenter the box. This is used before extracting honey; place a bee escape board (or crownboard) below your box of honeycomb 24 hours before you plan to harvest honey, and you'll return to find a mostly empty box.
Measurements: 510mm (L) x 407mm (W). Frame thickness: 21.5mm.
Use an Ecrotek Bee escape board by placing below your honey super/s and leave until all the bees have left the honey. Then quickly take the honey super/s away and swap out for your normal hive mat, or the next empty box to be filled!
Rim is made from high strength virgin plastics, and assembled with stainless steel screws for a long life under repeated use.
